Since 1955, the annual World Press Photo Contest has set the standard in visual journalism. The 2023 Yearbook showcases the most striking press photographs and compelling reports from 2022, carefully selected from thousands of entries by six regional and one global jury of acclaimed independent professionals. Providing a diversity of perspectives from all over the world, the awarded works bear witness to the events that shaped this past year, and document in long-term projects the ongoing issues we face. Recognizing the importance of photojournalism and documentary photography at a time, when the truth is contested, the awarded images share courageous stories and present invaluable insights― from warzones, the struggle for civil rights and political empowerment, to the visible impact of the climate crisis, which could be felt in 2022 more acutely than ever.

For six decades, the World Press Photo Foundation has been working from its home in Amsterdam as an independent, non-profit organization. To provide truly global perspectives, the foundation launched a new regional strategy in 2022. From January to March 2023 six regional and one global jury will decide on 24 regional and 4 global winners.

Now available again in a stunning new format, this generously illustrated book for lovers of photography includes 365 images from the greatest photojournalists of today and yesterday.

Founded by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Magnum Photos is the iconic international photographic cooperative whose members have captured the major historical events of their times, as well as private and intimate moments.

The Hasselblad Foundation International Award in Photography for 2008 has been awarded to Graciela Iturbide from Mexico City.

Graciela Iturbide is considered one of the most important and influential Latin American photographers of the past four decades. Iturbide has developed a photographic style based on her strong interest in culture, ritual and everyday life in her native Mexico and other countries. Iturbide has extended the concept of documentary photography, to explore the relationships between man and nature, the individual and the cultural, the real and the psychological. She continues to inspire a younger generation of photographers in Latin America and beyond

For ten years, Prix Pictet has been inviting artists to tackle multi-faceted themes on the topic of sustainability. 

During its first decade, some 4,200 photographers have presented over 28,000 images to the jury, and the public has enjoyed 92 exhibitions in 40 cities across the world. 

Each of the seven cycles has unearthed powerful images that speak to today's vast environmental, societal, and cultural challenges. "Московский Международный Фестиваль "Мода и стиль в фотографии 2003" стартует в столице уже в третий раз. За эти годы фестиваль стал одним из главных культурных событий не только в нашем городе, но и во всей России, превращал Москву в фотографическую столицу Восточной Европы. Как всегда в рамках фестиваля наряду с выставками мастеров отечественной фотографии представлено множество интересных зарубежных проектов, в организации которых объединили усилия многие международные культурные институты. Московский Международный Фестиваль "Мода и стиль в фотографии 2003" проходит в рамках протокола о культурном сотрудничестве между Мэрией Москвы и Мэрией Парижа. Существенная помощь в организации фестиваля была оказана Министерством иностранных дел Франции (AFAA). Четвертый Московский международный фестиваль "Мода и стиль в фотографии 2005" по традиции представляет выставочные проекты звезд мировой фотографии, работающих в области моды и стиля.
Уже во второй раз, в Москве, в рамках фестиваля "Мода и стиль в фотографии", состоится мировая премьера нового проекта Сары Мун "Красной нитью", по мотивам сказки Шарля Перро "Синяя Борода", включающего серию работ и видеофильм, который можно считать одной из самых ярких и пронзительных презентаций художественного мира Сары Мун.
В фестивалях "Мода и стиль в фотографии" традиционно участвуют выставки, подготовленные куратором фотографической коллекции Национального фонда современного искусства (FNAC) Аньес де Гувьон Сен-Сир.
На фестивале также представлены авторские проекты российских художников, работающих на грани "моды и стиля" и современной концептуальной фотографии. Среди них можно отметить выставки Бориса Бендикова, Али Есипович, Валерия Кацубы, Татьяны Либерман, Олега Маслова и других.
