Design for Shopping: New Retail Interiors

As consumers become spoilt for choice, retail design is embracing new ways of attracting purchasing power. From the use of interactive technology to the commissioning of art in shops, retail spaces are fast becoming destination places in which the customers engagement is key. Design for Shopping showcases a comprehensive selection of recent retail interiors from around the world. Following a brief introduction, the book is divided into seven themed chapters. As a special feature each chapter begins with an interview with a key figure in the world of retail design, exploring their views on how our changing shopping habits affect retail design. Designers, architects and retailers interviewed include Amanda Levete of Future Systems, Marcel Wanders, Terence Conran and Hani Rashid.
