This book is part of a new series of high-quality blank sketchbooks is aimed at a young audience of graffiti fans, graphic designers and students inspired by street art and graffiti, as well as anyone who buys street art books. Each sketchbook has a screen-printed board cover depicting a specially commissioned artwork by a well-known graffiti artist. Born in 1972 in Tokyo, ESOW came across graffiti at the age of 16 and has since devoted his time to the fusion of traditional Japanese art with graffiti. He is a painter with a love of skateboarding and cycling. Best known for his unique characters, he is regarded as one of the finest character illustrators on the Japanese graffiti scene.
Studio Rarekwai specializes in the promotion of international culture and music through documentary production and film. They are the authors of RackGaki, a book and DVD dedicated to Japan's explosive graffiti scene.
